Ali Riazi, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer
Ali Riazi is a scientist entrepreneur working in life science industry. His aspiration is to develop solutions for prevention or treatment of aging-related vulnerabilities. He previously co-founded AbCelex Technologies and Biotagenics that use genetic data to develop treatments against microbes and inflammation. Ali holds a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of Alberta and worked as a scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto, Dr. Riazi is an inventor on several patents.
Laurent Balenci, Ph.D., MBA
Chief Operating Officer
Laurent has many years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry with a focus on Neurology, Pediatric Care and Oncology. His areas of expertise span across business, drug development and planning strategies. Laurent has been involved in more than 20 drug development programs for small and large molecules from discovery to phase 2 human trials. Laurent received the Deval L. Patrick Commonwealth Innovation award for his contributions to the local innovation community of MassChallenge Boston. Laurent holds an executive Master’s in Business Administration from Quantic School of Business & Technology and a PhD in Neurobiology from Grenoble-Alpes University (France).
Krista Lanctot, Ph.D.
Scientific and Clinical Advisor
Dr. Krista Lanctot is a Senior Scientist at the Hurvitz Brain Research Program at the Sunnybrook Research Institute and Professor at the department of psychiatry, pharmacology and toxicology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Lanctot is an expert in neuropsychiatric diseases. Her research spans from studying disease biomarkers to medical, dietary, and exercise interventions. She has published more than 350 peer reviewed articles at scientific journals.
Jennifer Andrews, M.Sc., MBA
With a nutritional science background and over 12 years of experience in marketing, including as marketing director in the natural health sector, Jennifer specializes in strategic marketing and branding to help life science companies grow. Through her consulting business, Jennifer works with health science clients in the areas of marketing strategy, branding, digital marketing, content creation, websites, and all facets of traditional and digital marketing. She is also a business mentor and expert consultant through various accelerators and organizations across Southern Ontario. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in biology and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in human health and nutrition from the University of Guelph, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University.
